Mother’s Day Happiness

Ephesians 6:2-3 “Honor your father and mother” which is the first commandment with a promise “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

Three generations; Abby, her mother and grandmother.

My mother, preparing something probably for supper, at our camping kitchen that my father made. This little kitchen held all the basics for our camping days. Dishes, bowls and coffee mugs were on the top shelf. A drawer held all things silverware, steak knives, can opener and maybe even a level and a screwdriver. The dishpan stored the soap, sponge, pot holders and a roll of paper towels, which when the kitchen was open, were placed on a paper towel holder on the side of the kitchen. The center shelf had a few baking ingredients; stored in Tupperware of course; flour, sugar, baking powder, spices etc., to make pancakes for breakfast or peach cobbler for dessert. On the bottom shelf were some canned goods for the camping menus, like peaches for the cobbler. The front door opened down to create a counter. I guess I come by the traveling kitchen quite honestly.

My traveling kitchen is mainly a crockpot or two and this insulated bag that has paper plates, bowls, plastic silver, a couple grocery bags for trash and a dish towel with serving utensils wrapped up to keep the sawdust out. I was packing the hot chocolate, but we found a little table space for it. I try not to leave too much stuff to get in the way. Today I packed up a traveling meal to celebrate Mother’s Day at the log home. On the menu today, Spiral Ham, Potato Salad and Cinnamon Rolls.

Dough rising, cinnamon rolls shaped and rising, strawberries washed, salad made and ham baked.

Aust giving his mother the card he made for her.

A card from Your Smart Child.

The card Abby gave me.

The table set up. I brought flowers for M and Mae, and M brought a lily for her mother, aka Mae. Grammie didn’t stop by today.

Taping and mudding in the kitchen.

Online.

Reading directions and checking the floor plan.

Cleaning the kitchen area.

Doing it right. Aust set the timer on his iPad for the cement.

Sub-flooring. Making sure it’s lined up with the chalk line.

M starting the flooring in the bathroom. R finishing it so M could visit with her Godmother that stopped for a while.

Another beautiful and productive day!!
